Description: to guard and protect the city: Castel Nuovo, Castel dell’ Ovo , Castel Sant’ Elmo and Castel Capuano. We’ll meet in front of the Castel Nuovo (also named Maschio Angioino), one of the symbols of Naples, whose facade has been witness of the transition from the Angevin to the Aragonese kingdom. Then we’ll head to Piazza Trieste e Trento, where we’ll admire the Teatro San Carlo, the historical opera house of Naples, the Fontana del Carciofo (Artichoke Fountain), the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace), built by the will of the viceroy Ferdinando Ruiz de Castro, the Palazzo Zapata, and the Church of St. Ferdinand. From here we’ll continue towards Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the largest squares in Italy, where the Church of San Francesco di Paola is placed. This church was a votive offering made by king Ferdinand IV when Napoleon was finally dispatched, and the Bourbons were restored to the throne of Naples. We’ll finish our walking tour reaching the “Castel dell’Ovo”, located on the island of Megaris, the cradle of many stories and legends. From 10 Eur
